ABOUT NELSON & HAWORTH GOLF COURSE ARCHITECTS

Founded in 1982 by Robin Nelson, and now with three additional partners, Nelson & Haworth are renowned for creating challenging, fun and visually spectacular golf courses that make most of their varied sites. Many courses incorporate touches of the local culture and landscape, from the rice terraces and sculptures of Bali Golf Club to the dramatic fields of Mauna Lani in Hawaii.

Recently named as "Golf Course Architect of the Year" by the Club Managers Association of America and BoardRoom Magazine. Robin Nelson has designed more than 100 courses worldwide.

While Nelson continues to work outside the United States, his focus on doing more US projects has quickly grown his reputation and recognition in the United States. For instance, his Dragon at Gold Mountain design in Greagle, California was recently listed as one of the top 15 new courses to open in 2000 by Architectural Editor for Golf Digest. Having designed or redesigned nearly 30 of Hawaii's roughly 90 courses, Nelson is the state's most prolific architect. Two of his designs there - Dunes at Maui Lani and Coral Creek - opened in 1999.
